2016 International Mission Trip: Belize

Great Job Mission Team!!  FUMC Vero Beach 2016 Belize Mission Trip - Steve Salis

  • The Alpha and Omega Church has a brand new roof.
  • The Compassion School has 5 completely tiled classrooms and 2 of them we even got to paint.
  • The house is completed for the widow Reina and she is now moved in.  She now has a bridge over the creek to access her new home.
That was physical work performed by our team and many very talented local volunteer workers as well. However the physical tasks don't really tell the story. Mission trips are about building relationships with each other on the team, but just as importantly with new friends. All built on one ideal, that we are all children of a mighty and wonderful God, who wants us to get out of our comfort zone and reach out in his love to help those that he puts on our hearts.

Pastor Jeremy Rebman said as we reflected on the week: "there is only one church in Christ." We were able to take back with us the memories of warm smiles, firm hugs, joyful eyes and a profound sense of connection with these wonderful people. I believe the Lord was smiling this week as we worked together, prayed together, broke bread together and worshipped together.

Please pray for the continued work that is to be done in this beautiful country as God continues to work out his plan through the love and grace of his people. God is truly good and his love and grace are poured out on his people who abide in him and seek him with all of their hearts.
